Climate Planning. Built for Alignment
Sustainability Framework
Our flagship engagement — a comprehensive eight-section framework covering governance, GHG inventory, funding strategy, and implementation. Available at the county office or school district level, the Sustainability Framework establishes the shared goals, equity priorities, governance structures, and data standards that make climate action durable.
Eight-section deliverable structure:
1. Executive Summary
2. COE or District Profile
3. GHG Inventory
4. GHG Findings and Reduction
5. Four Pillars (Operations · Curriculum & Engagement · Built Environment · Community)
6. Governance Structure
7. Funding Strategy
8. Implementation Timeline
Each section includes companion stakeholder engagement tools designed for the audiences who actually shape implementation — boards, business officials, facilities teams, students, families, and community partners.
Best for: Organizations ready for comprehensive planning, pursuing multiple concurrent funding streams, and establishing long-term sustainability infrastructure.
Timeline: Approximately 6-12 months from kickoff to board adoption
.

Climate Action Plan
For individual schools and campuses ready to develop site-level sustainability planning. A campus Climate Action Plan provides a GHG baseline, a four-pillar action program, student leadership structure, and a funded implementation roadmap — connecting school-level work to broader district and regional goals.
Best for: Campuses with district or COE engagement in progress, schools pursuing site-specific funding, and schools building toward future district-wide planning.
Grant Writing Guidance
For active framework clients pursuing the funding identified in their Implementation and Funding Strategy sections. K3 provides grant guidance and application support as a complement to the framework work — helping translate alignment strategy into competitive funding applications for California Climate Investments, Proposition 4 streams, CEC programs, EPA Clean School Bus, and other concurrent opportunities.
Standalone grant-writing services are planned for a future launch.
